Job Description

Position Overview: As a Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations and assisting with research initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include performing experimental procedures, maintaining lab equipment, and assisting with data analysis. This is a hands-on position that requires a solid foundation in biochemistry and chemistry, along with the ability to collaborate within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct protein purification experiments using a variety of techniques (e.g., affinity chromatography, gel filtration, ion exchange).
• Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents, buffers, and solutions.
• Perform routine laboratory tasks such as sample preparation, data collection, and documentation of experimental procedures.
• Collaborate with the research team to analyze experimental data, and maintain accurate and detailed records.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Support bioinformatics and computational tasks, including data analysis and processing.
• Contribute to the development of new experimental protocols and techniques.

Required Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience gained through undergraduate research lab or industry/academia internships or roles.
• Solid understanding of protein purification techniques.
• Strong laboratory skills with an ability to work independently and within a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to document and present findings clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with bioinformatics tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with Python or other programming languages for data analysis and computational tasks.
• Exposure to computational modeling, machine learning, or bioinformatics databases would be a plus.
• Previous experience in an industry research environment is a plus.
