INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER & DEVELOPER

Job Responsibilities:

• Review prototype and production samples, providing fit and function feedback to design and engineering teams.
• Must be able to do photo-real rendering (preferably in Keyshot).
• Work with project management systems (Asana and/or Smartsheet a plus).
• Create quick proof of concept mockups through low fidelity prototypes. 3D printer operation.
• Review product field warranty issues and implement design changes as needed to improve product quality.
• Collaborate with product management to research competitor products, market needs, and end user pain points with application to product design.
• Work with cross functional departments, engineering, product management, marketing, sales.
• Other relevant tasks that may be assigned.

About you:

• Must be a team player capable of collaborating in person and with remote team members.
• Must have strong aesthetic sensibility and can visually and verbally communicate creative ideas through sketches, renderings, and presentations.

• Should be creative while being organized and focused. Should know how to deliver on schedule while providing unique, creative solutions.

• Should know how to prioritize through asking good questions to the right stakeholders.

• Passion for consumer electronics trends is a plus but not required.

• Should be available to travel up to 10% of the time, including international travel.

Experience Required:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in consumer product design, with a demonstrated history of designing and developing mass production consumer products.
• Bachelor of Fine Arts, BS or BID degree specializing in industrial design, (mechanical engineering background may also be considered)
• Fluent with rapid ideation through hand sketching and the Adobe suite (Illustrator & Photoshop).
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Teams).
• Ability to create, open and operate CADs for molded products. Validate structural CAD for manufacturing. (preferably in Autodesk Fusion 360)
• Thorough knowledge of prototyping, injection molding, and manufacturing processes to work efficiently with factories / vendors through the product development process.
• Detail-oriented with a natural aptitude for mechanical problem solving and design solutions
