What You'll Do - Oversee the preparation of deliverables and documents including narratives, calculations, drawings and specifications
- Effectively communicate design options to a diverse stakeholder group
- Provide engineering direction and guidance for the project team
- Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete a project from concepts through construction
- Design and plan fire protection system design and layouts
- Oversee mechanical load calculations
- Complete the project within the budget and schedule
- Knowledge of other disciplines and direct interdisciplinary coordination
- Edit/write specifications; provide input into standards
- Apply knowledge of building codes, industry standards and fire protection standards (NFPA)
- Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection
- Provide opinions of probable construction costs
- Perform site visits and issues reports
- Implement the project quality management plan (QMP)
What You Bring - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering for discipline work
- Licensed Professional Fire Protection Engineer (P.E.) or EIT preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years' total related work experience and 3+ years as a design Engineer in fire sprinklers
- LEED accreditation preferred
- Membership in ICC, NFPA, SFPE, NFSA preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Revit (required), AutoSprink (preferred)
- NICET level II or higher
- Experience with engineering calculation and performance simulation software
- Detailed knowledge of building codes and industry standards
- This is a hybrid position based out of Portland, Oregon
What We Offer - Hiring Base Salary Range: $77,200 - $103,300 annual
- This position is eligible for straight time overtime pay
The base salary is one component of PAE's competitive compensation package for employees. We take into consideration a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, internal equity and geographic location in determining exact salary offered. At PAE, roles are eligible for additional rewards, including salary increases and annual bonuses based on individual performance. The above range represents PAE's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
