March 2024 Foundation for Early Childhood Education (ECE) is searching for passionate and dedicated individuals, driven to support low-income and at-risk families in Los Angeles, by becoming a member of our Board of Directors. Foundation for ECE is a non-profit organization that opened in 1965 and has been serving the community for over 50 years. Foundation for ECE BOD is actively seeking individuals with knowledge and expertise in fundraising. Foundation for ECE recently received recognition as a NHSA Program of Excellence, and is one of the two Head Start-Early Head Start programs in CA. Our program serves approximately 500 children and their families and operates on a budget of around $13 million. Our primary funding is provided from contracts with CA Department of Education for State Preschool, and from LACOE, as a Head Start-Early Head Start sub-recipient. If you, or someone you know in the community is interested in supporting our young children and their families, by joining us we would love to hear from you and share more information about our programs. The Board of Directors at Foundation for ECE plays a critical role in our success in reviewing and approving our funding applications, providing input and guidance to the Administration Team, fundraising and networking in the community. We are interested in members with various backgrounds and expertise. We particularly need a member who is a licensed attorney, and others with community involvement with at-risk families and social services. The commitment is one meeting a month. Meetings are currently scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month, starting at 6pm. We humbly ask for your consideration and to pass this along to other community members who are passionate about supporting our Head Start-Early Head Start-State Preschool Programs in Los Angeles.
